The Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance was established when and what is its mission?

The Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance was jointly established in 2020 by five founding member organizations: The Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design, CURB Center for Architecture and Urban Planning - Macau, Guangzhou Urban Planning Association, Urban Planning Society of Shenzhen and Zhuhai Planning Exploration and Design Industry Association. The alliance's mission is to actively promote professional and academic exchanges on urban design in the Greater Bay Area, with the goal of improving the urban design standards and livability of cities in the region.

Why was the Greater Bay Area Urban Designers' Registry established?

One of the main tasks of the Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance is to establish a professional registry of urban designers in the Greater Bay Area. The creation of this widely recognized registry can facilitate talent exchange and the integrated development of the cities in the Greater Bay Area by capitalizing on their respective strengths.

The Exemption List refers to the founding members of the Greater Bay Area Urban Designers' Registry, who are senior city designers with rich urban design experience from the five founding member organizations of the Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance.

How can one join the Greater Bay Area Urban Designers' Registry? What are the procedures?

Individual members of the founding member organizations of the Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance who have accumulated sufficient urban design experience can apply to their respective organizations. The founding member organizations will determine the application procedures based on their own conditions.

After reviewing the applications and finding them to be in compliance with the standards, the founding member organizations can recommend the applicants to the alliance. The review committee of the Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance will then review the lists submitted by the founding members and decide whether to approve the applications.
